Director: TAKASHI MIIKE (2015, 120 mins, JAPAN)

Yakuza boss-turned-vampire Kamiura has tight control of his turf, shaking down the local population for their hard earned and their plasma. When a rival cartel rolls into town " consisting of a bad-ass witch-hunter with a Django-like coffin on his back, an ultra-violent anime geek and a water-demon with terrible personal hygiene " all hell breaks loose, and that's only the first act. Yakuza Apocalypse dives headfirst into bat-shit craziness, and then a giant frog turns up so any remaining rules of cinema go out the window. Here, Takashi Miike stirs everything he can into the mix: slapstick, body horror, stop-motion animation, and vintage giant monster carnage included. Returning to his roots V-Cinema (the low-budget, often X-rated direct-to-video gangster films that allowed the helmer to mash up genres in darkly imaginative ways), Yakuza Apocalypse showcases

Miike's demented, visionary brilliance and confirms him as one of the most distinctive cinematic talents of our generation.

BUNNY THE KILLER THING BUY TICKETS [http://www.factorytheatre.com.au/suff15-call-me-lucky-0]

Director: JOONAS MAKKONEN (2015, 88 mins, FINLAND)

A secluded cabin in the Finnish backwoods, a few cases of hard liquor and eight European twenty-somethings " what could possibly go wrong? What is meant to be a weekend of hard partying soon turns into a game of life and death when a strange creature resembling a demonic bunny rabbit emerges from the forest to wreak havoc on this group of unsuspecting tourists. This is Bunny the Killer Thing but unlike most creatures of his kind, Bunny doesn't just have a taste for blood " instead, he craves anything that resembles female genitals.

Bunny the Killer Thing is a riotous horror-comedy destined for cult-classic status. An homage to the ridiculously camp, bad-guy-in-monster-suit slashers of

the 80s, with his feature length debut, Finnish director Joonas Makkonen offers up one sexed-up, blood-splattered hell of a good time.

Definitely your only chance to see it on the big screen!

"Completely insane. Gory, disgusting, and offensive."

" Dread Central.

"Ever wanted to see a giant bunny murder a shit ton of people? Well now you're in luck. Bunny the Killer Thing is now... a thing."

" Gores Truly.

CALL ME

LUCKY BUY TICKETS [http://www.factorytheatre.com.au/suff15-call-me-lucky-0]

Director: BOBCAT GOLDTHWAITE (2015, 106 mins, USA)

Barry Crimmins is the funniest comedian that you've never heard of. As a young and hungry comic in the '70s, he founded his own Boston comedy club, fostering the careers of legends such as Steven Wright, Denis Leary and even Bobcat Goldthwait. A venerated member of America's comic community, Crimmins' scathingly ribald stand-up style took early audiences by force. Through stark, smart observation and judo-like turns of phrase, his rapid-fire comedy was a war on ignorance and complacency in '80s America at the height of an ill-considered foreign policy. Alas, beneath Crimmins' gruff, hard-drinking, curmudgeonly persona lay an undercurrent of rage stemming from a dark secret from his past " a rage that eventually found its way out of the comedy clubs and television shows and into the political arena.

Featuring interviews with Margaret Cho, Marc Maron, David Cross and Patton Oswalt plus a swath of stand-up footage, Call Me Lucky bravely tells Crimmins' incredible story of transformation from a rage-fueled funnyman into an acclaimed proponent of justice who personifies the power of comedy.
