Official Blurb "The captivating new drama from legendary Italian auteurs Paolo & Vittorio Taviani: "PADRE PADONRE", "NIGHT OF THE SHOOTING STARS", follows real-life prison inmates as they rehearse for a performance of Shakespeare’s classic story of honour and power, 'Julius Caesar.'

The film opens at a packed theatre for the night of a premiere. At the play’s conclusion, the performers are

rewarded with rapturous applause from the audience. But when the lights go out; the actors leave the stage and return to their cells, Caesar, Brutus and the others. They are all inmates of Rebibbia, a maximum-security jail on the outskirts of Rome, and many are serving life sentences for murder or mafia-linked crimes.

A unique blend of narrative and documentary (whilst the film is fully scripted, all the inmates elect to use their real names and recite their own stories [I KNEW IT! - ed.] when they are introduced at rehearsals), CAESAR MUST DIE takes audiences behind prison walls to explore the porous boundaries between performance and life. Alternatively fierce and introspective, CAESAR MUST DIE explores the transformative power of art even under the most seemingly impossible of circumstances." - Palace Films PR
